Question 47: What’s black and red and highlighted all over?

18 Nov

The answer is, my hair!! I realize that I haven’t posted in a few days. Sorry about that. I’ve been keeping busy. Very busy. I feel like all I do lately is take photos, edit, and work. Yesterday, I got a day off though! It was wonderful to have a day where I didn’t have to stress about anything. And to help with that, I finally went to my favorite hair salon, and got my hair highlighted red. I seriously LOVE it. What do you think? Tonight, I get to go to the midnight showing of Harry Potter, tomorrow, I’m going to Light Up Night, and Saturday, I have a shoot with an absolutely AMAZING model. I’m so excited. 🙂 I’ve also booked a bunch of paid photoshoots. Eek! I only have like, one more opening in December, so I’m already booking for January. I’m so blessed. 🙂

Question 45: What exactly was I doing yesterday that made me so busy?

12 Nov

I got so busy yesterday that I forgot to take a real picture of my outfit, so this one from Photobooth is just going to have to suffice for this post. So, what exactly was I doing yesterday that made me so busy? Well, working of course, then directly after work, working out. By the way, I’m not sure why, but I must have pushed myself harder yesterday than I’m used to, because today my legs are super sore. Right after working out, I drove home, hopped in the shower, and got ready for the second time yesterday. Picked up a friend of mine, and then we drove down to Morgantown. We decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. Bdubs, as I know it. Speaking of which, how many of you have actually heard of the term “BDubs”? The guy I was with had never heard of it until I said it. Hmmm….maybe it’s an Indiana thing? Of course, when we got there, a parade was about to start on that very street. It was so much fun trying to find a parking space, ha. The waiter there at BDubs was horrible. Just horrible. Actually, every time that we’ve gone there, the service has been sub-par. After dinner, we headed to Barnes & Noble so Kyle could get his mom a present for her birthday & then we picked up coffee. Oh my gosh. While we were there, I saw a girl I went to high school with. So freaking weird. I’m not sure if she recognized me or not, because I look a bit different than I did back then. Once we got back to Waynesburg, we watched Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince. (I had never seen it before.) Oh, speaking of which, we’re going to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter next Thursday!!! 🙂 hehe.  Btw, if you’re interested in seeing my latest photography work, check out my Facebook Page. I have another photoshoot tomorrow, 2 on Monday, one on Wednesday, and another next Saturday, so it’ll be updated regularly.

Question 43: What do you think? Another photoshoot!

9 Nov

Yesterday was another photoshoot day. I got to work with an absolutely incredible model. I also ended up going to bed at around 7:30 last night because of my sinus medication. I got to sleep nearly 12 hours, minus being briefly woken up by a text on my phone. Oh, I forgot to mention! I got an offer to work with a production company in Pittsburgh coming January as their photographer. I worked with them once pro bono last year. Still not sure what all it will entail (It’ll only be part-time), but I’m excited nonetheless. Anyway, here’s a couple shots from yesterday’s shoot. 🙂

Shirt: Thrift

Pants- Nine West

Shoes- Rampage (Macy’s)

Belt- Thrift

Scarf- Thrift

Question 18: Is it time for another photoshoot?

5 Oct

My life has been nuts lately. Oh, who am I kidding? My life has always been nuts- it’s just been a little more-so lately. (hence the lack of posts the past couple days.) Here’s a few of the photos from Saturday’s photoshoot that I did in Pittsburgh. I was originally supposed to go up there around 4pm, but the model texted me at 10am to see if I was awake because her other photographer was a no-show. So, I not only did my shoot that day, but I did the other photographer’s shoot. And man, am I glad I did. I got some GORGEOUS shots that I wouldn’t have otherwise. It was a 4-hour shoot. Oh dear, I don’t like long shoots either. The model I shot with was a petite model- she was 4’9″. I’ve got to tell you, that’s the first time that I’ve felt tall around a model. (haha, I’m only 5’1″) I don’t wanna ever hear that a short girl can’t model. Rey was fabulous. The hair in most of these was done by Zarelli Hairdressing. I hope I get to work with them again- they do amazing work. That and the makeup artist- she was great too. 🙂  If you want to see more of the shoot, click here.

Latest Photography & Design

30 Apr

Hey everyone! Here’s what I’ve been up to lately:

Did a photoshoot for Crazy Hot Clothes on Wednesday. The models were two of my friends from high school. It was so much fun. The photo here is from the shoot, and is gonna be an ad on the blog: Wardrobes & Whimsy in the next couple days.

I also got to do a blog post for Shoegasm, a very well-known shoe boutique in NYC, which you can find here.

Here’s also a postcard design I did for the Celebrating the Arts festival here at Waynesburg University.

Life’s been so crazy lately, and I know it’s not gonna slow down any time soon (nor do I want it to.)

I’m shooting another fashion show tomorrow up in Pittsburgh, and I get to dogsit this weekend! So excited for that. I was supposed to do a shoot today after work, but my model cancelled on me.

lookbooks, magazines, & new photos

20 Mar

Hey everyone! So, no huge updates right now, but I am starting to work on a Lookbook of my portfolio to send out to magazines. I’m really excited to work on it-and hopefully see some results come from it. =) I’m also working on the web design for a new magazine in Pittsburgh called “Verdure Magazine.”

Has anyone else heard about this whole ordeal?

A photographer was sued because she didn’t want to photograph the marriage of a gay couple. In my opinion, I think that it’s ridiculous that she got sued over it, but I also think that she should have handled it more professionally. Your thoughts?

Does anyone else ever read Nylon magazine? I just got my first issue in the mail yesterday, and I absolutely love how they design their layout. =)

Anyway, I’ll leave you with this photo:
